How to set up your first order

Short description: This guide walks you through opening Crisper, starting a new order, and sending it to the kitchen or counter — step by step.

Before you start

  • You are logged in to Crisper on your device (tablet, phone, or computer).
  • You know your table number or order type (dine-in, takeaway, or delivery) as your restaurant uses them.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Crisper app or website and sign in with your staff account.
  2. On the home screen, tap Orders (or New order, if your screen shows that instead).
  3. Choose New order to start a blank ticket.
  4. Select the order type — for example, dine-in, takeaway, or delivery.
  5. If the order is for a table, enter or select the table number.
  6. Add items to the order: tap a category, then tap each item. Change quantity with + and if needed.
  7. Add any notes for the kitchen (for example, “No onion” or “Extra spicy”) in the note field for that item or for the whole order.
  8. Review the order on the summary screen. Check items, quantities, and prices.
  9. Tap Send to kitchen (or Confirm, if your venue uses that label) to place the order.
  10. You should see a confirmation or the order moving to In progress / Kitchen. If not, open Guides → Troubleshooting on this site when those articles are published.
